Staying at Sugar Bear Cove
Staying at Sugar Bear Cove in Shirley, BC was a dream come true. This private oasis on Vancouver Island is perfect for large groups and families looking for a weekend escape or summer getaway.
Our dream stay at Sugar Bear Cove
For our five-year wedding anniversary, we had an elaborate plan to stay in Vancouver and and go a Canucks hockey game. As our anniversary approached, unfortunately so did a big storm. We ended up not being able to travel to Vancouver and were feeling disappointed about it.
This is where Sasha at Sugar Bear Cove came in and saved the day! She invited us to come and stay at one of her properties in Shirley. We didn't know that much about the property, but Sasha was super friendly and offered up a lot of great information.
We decided to take her up on the offer and since then we have become good friends.
When we first arrived at the property, we felt super relaxed. It felt like returning to a time when the island was less developed and more secluded. Shirley is a charming small town and this property reflects the natural beauty of the area. We had no idea what to expect but were blown away upon arrival at the property.
Private and secluded
Sugar Bear Cove is a 3 bed 2 bath house on a stunning 10 acres of ocean front property. The gated entrance leads you through a wondrous west Coast forest of Cedars, Firs, and Maples, to views of the Olympic Mountains. You can experience the magic of the forest on many of the groomed trails located on site. See if you can spot the tree house!
This high bank, level estate has a storybook staircase that takes you down to a private beach that promises perpetual treasures- this is also a great spot to see whales swimming by.
I highly recommend contacting Sasha and staying at one of her great properties. She is both friendly and personable, offering some of the most unique places to stay on Vancouver Island.
